Make a 3G video call, thats how you activate it. That is the only purpose that the front camera can be used for on series 40 nokia's.

It cannot be used as a camera for taking pictures or capturing video.

1. Visit Nokia service center and replace the capture
key. OR
2. Download different photo capture software from net
for Nokia N3 & there you can take snaps by using
Joystick.
