Im using Presario CQ 62 Notebook PC. And i have installed Windows 7 Home Premium. Whenever im opening any application, the system responds very slow. But the CPU is not utilized that much when i check through task manager. And there are no softwares installed in my machines which utilizes the CPU that much. I have installed VMWare player for linux. Please let me know how can i improve the performance. Thanks.

On what computer. Drivers work with hardware. Windows 7 is an operating system that uses the drivers to make the hardware work.
What is make AND model of your computer.

Some games are not compatible with 64bit operating systems

you might try updating the graphic card driver, by going to their
sites and see if they have a updated driver that will work

I've installed Win 8 twice so far, and couldn't wait to get rid of it within days. So, I would say start by backing up your files, because the roll back or possible failure consists of a clean wipe. Second start checking if your hardware is Win 8 ready. No sound, a lousy display, or not being to connect to the internet is the most common problem for rolling back. Then consider what applications you absolutely require and will they run in Win 8. As for Win 8 upgrade install, you get it directly from the net via MS web site for 40 bucks. The full install is readily available at most retailers.

If the hard drive is compatible with your presario cq 41 then it will work. The operating system does not matter if you're switching hard drives.

If you want to update the operating system on the old hard drive, you will need to have the software for Windows 7.

I believed this isue occurs because the IM application was not properly installed or corrupted or either the operating system of your PC is corrupted as well, so i suggest to manually install again the IM application on your PC and if it doesn't work reformat your operating system by installing the orginal disk driver again (ex. Windows xp, vista, windows 7).

There could be a few reasons why its not working for you.

1 If you have another anti virus program it must be completely un installed.
2 You downloaded win 7 32 bit, and not win 7 64 bit version.
3 Download corrupt.un install essentials and re download and install.

if you are doing an upgrade from windows vista to windows 7 check first the version of your vista operating system, for example if you are using windows vista home premium 32 bit then the windows 7 CD that you need is windows 7 home premium 32 bit also, cant mix any versions or types of bit. it should be always the same. try also to download the windows upgrade advisory run it and check for programs and applications that you installed or pre-installed in your computer that cant affect the installation, remove those programs and applications that are not compatible with windows 7. just install those back again after.

if you are doing a clean installation of the windows 7
check first if the system requirements for windows 7 installation is applicable to the specification of your computer. if your system is capable the bqack up your files and go ahead with the installation

u need to fix error on harddisk.
u can fix those error with "chkdsk /r"
