You'll want to buy a higher write speed card (Class 6 or higher) to be able to reliably store the larger file sizes of your 12MP camera. Recommend searching on Amazon. By coincidence, I recently just purchased three of this Class 10 brand (Amazon seems to be having a sale on them at the moment with free shipping).

I am getting memory card error with canon powershot a410

The A410 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card and won't work in devices not designed to use them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I have a canon camera SD1300 and when i turned it on it says memory card lock and i tried to look at the switch but there is no switch on the side what should i do?

SD and Micro SD memory cards has a smallslide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memorycard. Slide the switch from the READ position tothe WRITE position, which is furthest away from the contacts.

Canon powershot SD1300 IS won't turn on, even with fully charged battery

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Without memory card can i take any shots with canon ixus 105

No, because Canon's do not have any internal memory. A memory card is always needed.

Memory card is locked

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I just recieved a canon powershot SD1300 IS for christmas. I bought a 2 gb memory card and the camera tells me there is a memory card error. the card is not locked, and I have tried to format the card but...

Yes I know you said the card was not locked but, check to makes sure the little white sliding switch is pushed towards the top of the card in the direction of the gold contacts. Also the memory card is inserted in the correct orientation (right way up) see picture.

Also when these things have been checked close the door on the memory card make sure the card is seated first. Then remove the battery for a few moments and reinstall. I'm going to assume you have set the date and time if not this must be done before the camera will function properly.

I have a canon powershot sd1300 and i need to delete ALL my pictures at once how do i do this?

The easiest way to delete all your pictures is to format it. If the pictures are in internal memory, format that. If they're on a memory card, format that.

Memory cards should be formatted each time you finish downloading the pictures from them.

I bought a canon powershot SD1300 IS camera yesterday. I inserted a 2 GB memory card in to the slot. when i switched on the cam It displays a message no memory card. what should i have to do?

I'm assuming you went through the setup procedures (setting date, time, etc). If you tried to shoot any pics with no card in the camera, you now have pics on the internal memory. You need to get rid of those by going into the menu and finding "format". Then, insert your new card (making sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position) and do the "format" thing again to optimize the new card for the camera.
