I purchased spike for my 5 year old girl - love at first bite! American charger useless and no solutions on the Fisher Price web page so.... I purchased a Tenergy universal smart charger for 7.2 - 12 V NiMh/NiCd packs. It has alligator clips that can connect to the battery. Has a temperature probe for safety. Works a treat and charges him for great play time. All the kids watch spike in action now. Hope this helps.
All Battery on e-bay sold it for like $20 dollars plus postage.

To get a battery charger for the dino you can go on Mattel website (click HERE) and you have to REGISTER (by choosing an ID and a password); once you've done with that use THIS LINK to see the battery charger.
But KEEP IN MIND that the charger is around $14 and you will have to pay the SHIPPING TAXES as well (that are about $5)

HPZE4200 Shuts off

Hi. it should be the battery that is not charging at all. but there is enough charge to power on but get depleted and turn off lappy. try to charge the battery in another laptop or an external battery charge for lappy.

This so-called dinosaur uses a PC-LINK to connect to a PC but don't waste time to find as only drivers for window 98 are aVAILABLE.
