My unit will not respond to the remote control. I performed a reset, which worked only temporarily, now I can't get any control from the remote. Everything on the unit works fine, but I would like to adjust some audio properties. Is there a way to do that without the remote? Is there a process to re-activate the remote?
open up the remote (if it's not under warranty) and check to see if the emitter LED has a cold solder joint or if the battery terminals have cold solder.open up the remote (if it's not under warranty) and check to see if the emitter LED has a cold solder joint or if the battery terminals have cold solder.
An easy test for a remote is to point it at a webcam or camcorder and press a button. The led should flash almost white in the video stream. An easy test for a remote is to point it at a webcam or camcorder and press a button. The led should flash almost white in the video stream.

NOTE THE COMMENT ABOUT THE RESET AND THE SIMULTANEOUS SELECTION OF THE + - SET and CLEAR BUTTONS to effect a reset after replacingg batteries
HOW TO INSTALL BATTERIES Remove the lid in the rear part of the remote control unit. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries of 1,5 V-DC. Make sure the batteries point in the direction marked in the battery compartment. The batteries last about six months. Depending on how much you use the remote control unit. Remove the batteries if you do not use the remote control unit for more than one month. Press the +, -, SET and CLEAR buttons together after batteries replacement. (This operation allows you to reset correctly all the programs. The remote control unit is to be set up again).Replace the batteries when the remote control unit lamp fails to light, or when the air conditioner does not receive the remote control unit signals. The batteries of the remote control contain polluted substances exhausted batteries must be disposed according to the laws in force.
Check your remote control by using a camera or cellphone camera as your
eyes to confirm if the remote control is ok. Point the remote control
transmitter to your camera and check if a light emits in your remote
control transmitter. If no light then the remote control is defective,
but if the light is present then the remote is ok and the unit
receiver board itself is defective.
Check also if there is a reset or rst button on the remote control, press the button and test the remote.
heres a clever way i use to check remotes are working. put your mobile phone into camera mode and point your remote control toward the camera while pressing any button.if working you will see a blue light emiting from your remote on phone screen.
- Check if the battery is ok. - Some remote control have reset button, you can find it at the front or back at the compartment of the battery push the rst button with pin or ballpen to reset it and try. - Some remote control have selector switch in both remote control and at the board inside the unit. Try to transfer the switch button from A to B and also at the board inside the unit and reset the remote control and try.Or need to reconfigure the remote control to select the frequency. - Try your remote control to other unit with same brand as yours to confirm if your remote control is really need a replacement. If it works then your receiver board in the unit is need a replacement. Or if wont work then you have to buy a new remote control. But if you have no budget then try to switch on the unit using emergency button to operate the unit.
This is one of the best solution to do, look for unit
who have same model as your unit( to your friends or neighbors) and test
your remote control. If it wont work in another unit with same model then the remote
control is defective, but if it works then its the receiver.
But try this solution first, if there is a reset button in your remote try to
reset it then try the remote to your unit.
Note: sample only(reset button can be found either infront or at back of the remote control inside the battery compartment.)
yes. Changed the batteries twice just to make sure.
