Good day,

I came across a few situations where someone has forgotten their iPod's passcode and now can't use it.

I will give some instructions on how to possibly repair this problem.

The first thing you can try is to connect your Ipod to it's HOME Computer. This will normally override the lock. Only thing is that you need the lock code to be able to assign a new code.

Another method I came across is to connect your Ipod to a computer. Make sure you are able to see all hidden folders. Browse to your Ipod on My Computer and double click on your Ipod folder/location. Open the folder named "iPod_Control" inside the folder open the folder "Device". Inside the device folder rename the file "_locked" to "_unlocked".

These two methods has worked for me in the past, so please feel free to let me know if this help you!

Regards

Ipod touch passcode

Do you see in an icon for your ipod touch on the left hand panel of iTunes? It should be listed under "devices". you need to click that first.
Then go to the Summary tab. There is a "restore" button under the Version section. This will restore your iPod to factory defaults. You will loose all the custom data, and will have to re-sync it.
