Hi, I have a Cannon Powershot A610 and when I take a picture the picture comes out too dark. How can I adjust the it? thanks

"Too dark" or do you really mean "totally black"? I'm asking because a stuck shutter is a very common failure mode for your particular model camera.
The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

How do I format the memory card on the Canon Powershot A610 camera

Hi,

The option to format the card should be in the camera's menu.

To do it properly consult the manual.

Other than that you can pop the card in a card reader, connect it to a computer and format the card that way.

Regards.

YES HI my cam will not turn on. its a powershot a610 cannon cameria

Things to check first are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Details on what needs to be checked may be seen here. It won't work for every case, but it's worth a try.

A60 camera as web cam on computer

Many cameras can serve as a webcam, sure; however the A60 camera is not designed to do this. I have checked the manuals. I even have an A610 and it doesn't do it. Sorry.

In the future, here is a helpful article that describes how to accomplish this. But asking if you camera can do it, of course, is the first, and most important question. Great question.

Please mark as FIXYA, thanks.

Powershot a610 will not power on

Junk in the usb mini connector could be shorting the main board out. Try a can of electronics duster in the port. Cheers!
