Audiovox Infrared Headphones

We purchased several sets of these headphones to use in our vehicle with an after-market DVD player. One set of headphones suddenly produces no sound at all. We have changed the batteries and have checked for correct battery installation. Any other suggestions, as these are not much more than a year old and I hate to have to purchase a new set. Thanks so much! We have 5 sets of Audiovox Infrared Headphones that we use in our suburban for the kids to watch movies. About 3-4 months after we purchased them, we were driving along and all of a sudden they all stopped working. We've changed the batteries, and are quite unsure what else to even try. They power on and off, but do not pick up any of the sound from the DVD player. We're about to head off on a 1700 mile trip with our six kids, and I'm feeling desperate to figure out what to do!!!

Hello Could you tell me how to get the infrared

Hello... I am sorry to hear you are having problems. I am unsure if you bought this as a package deal with the headphones or purchased the headphones separately. If you purchased them separately, they may not be compatable. Headphones come in different frequencies. The reason for this is if you had 2 different dvd players and 1 kid was watching Spongebob and the other kid was watching Hannah Montana, they would not interfere with each other as far as sound. Some dvd players will allow you to change the output frequency of the IR (infrared) transmitter built into the dvd player. This feature would be in the menu section of your dvd player. Make sure the headphones are on properly, because if they are backwards, they may not read, because IR frequencies are "line of sight" meaning the receiver (headphones) has to see the transmitter (dvd player). You will see a tinted window that has 3 or 4 bulbs. That will be your transmitter. Make sure you have good batteries in the headphones and that you have them turned on. If you have power and have checked the IR frequency, and they were purchased aftermarket, then you may need a different set that receives the correct frequency. If this is a package deal and you have checked the batteries and they power up properly, you may have a bad IR transmitter inside the dvd player. With the info you provided I can only speculate at this point, but this gets you on a start. Let me know if I can help more! Good luck with your venture!!

Can I set up the dvd player to be listened to without the headphones?

I don't know what type you have...However, Audiovox makes a wired FM modulator that plugs into the back of the radio (wired from the DVD player) that permits the DVD player sound to be heard through the vehicle's sound system. Relatively inexpensive and simple to install. I hope I've helped. If so, please rate my assistance and leave a comment to help others. Thanks and good luck.

Honda Odyssey DVD player sound without the headphones

You can set the sound to play through the car's speakers. If you don't want it too loud in front, you can use the audio setting for the fader to just play in the rear.

How do you work the sound on the DVD player?

I have a 2005 with DVD - but do not have the wireless headphones. I use the AUX button on the front radio to switch between FM/AM/and the DVD Player. I do have headphones jacks in the roof console by the DVD player, but have never used them.

Audiovox Infrared Headphones

My set has an led that glows red when on...if batteries in correctly, and switch on...do you have a red "POWER" indicator. If yes, & still no sound, 1-does the other set work? 2- either side of prob set work? 3-VOLUME up all the way? Could be bad receiver/bad speaker(s) bad vol switch.
IF no POWER led on, then 1-bad batteries 2-bad power switch 3-broken internal power lead/wire.

Wireless Headphone not working with my portable DVD player

Firstly, make sure your DVD have built-in IR wireless module so that your headphone can receive the audio signal from your DVD player.

Second, it should be clear which frequency transmitted from your DVD player. Generally speaking, there are two frequency of IR transmitter. One is 2.3MHz/2.8MHz. another is 3.2MHz/3.87MHz. Only emission frequency same as receiver can receive the audio signal.
