Where is the enter button on my keyboard - Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook

No drivers required.
Put the batteries in the keyboard.
Turn on the power and pressed the connect button.
From the pc, add a new device, search for it.
Once it recognizes the keyboard the keyboard will provided a serial number which I entered on the PC keyboard, then pressed enter. The two were connected

caused by short circuit in keyboard, only option is to replace the keyboard with a fresh one.

1. On the Start Button, Click on Run, In the command line type osk.exe and press ok button. (which starts on screen keyboard and when ever you require to press enter, click on the on screen enter button.
2. You can use a third party utility of on screen keyboard using that you click on enter with the help of mouse.

carefully remove enter key and clean contacts.

Its not a HW ,.. its a SW issue ...
try this if u can and hopefully it works !!!
1. Click Start on the taskbar.
2. Choose Control Panel.
3. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
4. Double-click Keyboard.
5. In the Keyboard Properties window that appears, click the Buttons tab.
6. Double-click the button you want to change. The button configuration window opens.
7. Choose the button capability from the drop-down list. Enter the Display label and the Address information. (For a Web site, enter the complete Web site URL in the Address box.)
8. Click OK.
9. On the Buttons tab, click Apply.
10. Repeat steps 6 through 9 for each button you want to reconfigure.
11. Click OK when you are finished reconfiguring the keyboard.

I have a laptop where the enter button and delete button dont function(and I know why cos my brothers mrs soft cow spilt wine over the keyboard) anyway it dont bother me much cos I use the mouse for most things ; but if I need to have use of enter or delete I either plug in an external keyboard or I use the on screen keyboard. (start...all programs....accessories...accessability)
you can also get a roll up keypad,usb.last option you'll have to go ebay for keyboard

I opened up the Logitech Mouse and Keyboard Settings, turned my keyboard off, changed out the batteries and turned it back on. It then detected the Keyboard and asked for a password, I entered in the password, it said it was rebooting it and asked for another password which I entered (both passwords were given to me in the Settings). Now it is working just fine! Not sure if you have tried this but it might work for you.

u can use an oncreen keyboard if ur running winxp. to do this, click on start,all programs,accessories,assecibility,onscreen keyboard or beter still use the tab key on yr laptop keyboard after typing yr password keep presing it untill the ok button or enter or next which ever one u want to activate when highlited, click the space bar key it should work as enter key.

Keyboard is shot. They do that due to the heat laptops generate. I've probably replaced 200 laptop keyboards in the past 5 years.
