If you need you SSID on your router you need to access the Wireless Settings Page. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.0.1, the Default username is admin and the password is blank. Go to the Wireless Settings and look for the SSID. You can personalize the SSID if you want.

What is SSID and Wep Key?

SSID is the name of the wireless network that you are trying to connect to. WEP is a type of encryption that only allows people that know the WEP passphrase to get on with that wireless connection.

What is a SSID

Hi there.

The SSID simply put is the name of a wireless network for example, when your connect to a network on your laptop the name that pops up that is the networks SSID

Wireless networks can be set up in stealth, meaning that they do not transmit their SSID and thus the user wishing to connect must know the SSID exactly.

I am guessing this question is in relation to connecting a Nintendo Wii to the internet? If so just enter the network name for the SSID as it appears on your computer and the password and relevant information.

What is an ssid please?

An SSID is the public name of a wireless network. All of the wireless devices on a WLAN must employ the same SSID in order to communicate with each other.
This SSID is established when the router is installed. If you do not know the SSID, you must reset the router and redefine the network and a new SSID.

I dont know how to change the SSID Name and WEP Key.

You have to change it in the printer settings, not in the router! Otherwise you'll lose connectivity in all the other computers that use this router.
The SSID is the name you gave to your wireless network, and the WEP key is the password you set for your wireless connection.

DO NOT REMEMBER SSID NAME GIVEN TO ROUTER WRT54GS---LOST PRINTED COPY OF SET-UP. HOW CAN I REPRINT OR JUST FIND OUT INFO

You can see the SSID name from one of your wireless computer that is already connected to the wireless network. Just point your name over the wireless little computer icon down at bottom right hand by the time. It will say there "Wireless Network Connection, Connected to "name of the network". That "name of the network" is the wireless signal name like "Linksys" or whatever name you gave to your network when you setup the router. That's the SSID name as well. Wireless Network Name = SSID.
