Belkin Play Wireless USB Adapter (F7D4101) Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 18, 2011

Recently bought the Belkin Play max router F7D4302 & wireless play adapter F7D4301. I'm having intermitten wireless disconnection. Everytime when the wireless adapter disconnect after every connection, it can't seems to find any network available and windows troubleshooting can't seems to reset the wireless adapter. I have to physically plug out the wireless adapter and plug it back in, re-enable back the wireless adapter driver to reconnect back the WIFI network. It seems that the connection time worsen as time pass. The connection last about 3 hrs when i first use the adapter and router. Then the discconnection gets more and more frequent and now it disconnect every few mins. Using channel 1 on 2.4ghz. 20/40Mhz and WPA2. Os: Windows 7 64 bit

i have the lastest firmware and drivers Removed unused network adapters and merged duplicated network connections. Called the technical support but they are unable to solve the issue. Not connection strength or interfere by other wireless device problems.

Can i setup the belkin f7d4302 as a wireless bridge

belkin does not support this. The only way you can do it is by running a cable to the router to extend your wireless signal around the house. I did a similar setup with a powerline network adapter if running a cat5 cable is not a option. just make sure you change the main ip address for the 2nd router to like 192.168.2.2 and disable dhcp since the main router will handle dhcp. also make sure the wireless settings are the same and channel is different if 1st router is channel 1 then use channel 6 or 11 for the 2nd router.

OK let me disable something in your router

QOS

Supported Products - Play Wireless Router (F7D4302), Play Max Wireless Router (F7D4301)

Using QoS rules on your Belkin Router helps provide both bandwidth and priority to network traffic so it can pass without its performance being affected. It allows users to classify traffic of applications and provides them with differentiated services (Diffserv).

Setup Steps

  1. Click on the green Belkin Router Manager icon (right-click for Windows) to open the menu.
  2. On the Belkin Router Manager menu, scroll up to Router Settings and highlight.
  3. Click to open the Belkin Router Setup page on your Web browser.

You must log in with a password to make changes to your Router's settings. If you have not yet set a custom up a password, leave this field blank and click the "Submit" button.

  1. From the QoS Profiles page, you can easily set up QoS rules.
  2. Click the "Apply Changes" button to save your settings.

Also disable WPS and Firewall in router.

I have loaded my PC with the SW for my F7D4302 Belkin Wireless Play Router and when I go in the other room to access my wireless laptop - the system asks for my network key and confirm key.

Hey hi dude. The router which you have installed recently in your system is password protected i guess. While installing the router software itself you will be asked to give some password in order to protect the router from 3rd party interference and to make it personalised for you. So just recollect the password which you have given that time and give the password to connect it. You can able to connect it. The problem is not with the distance between the router and your laptop.
