My Canon MP 520 now will print only on A5 paper but not A4. My computer setup has not changed.

  • allanblack Mar 19, 2011

Sounds OK but my printer does not seem to have Device Settings on which to click. I have tried alternative settings without success.

  • allanblack Mar 28, 2011

Thanks. It seems to work OK now.

You must as administrator to change setup printer setting.

  • Anonymous Mar 22, 2011

your printer connected as direct printer or Sharing printer ? if connected with sharing printer, first you must connected with that printer, on that printer -> Right Click -> Properties -> and for lookup for all Setup your printer you must as Administrator -> device setting.

if you as administrator but not seem device setting, maybe you must re-installed your printer driver.

Problem with printing an A4 size on A5-R in mp tray.

Sounds like you are trying to convince the machine to print a document on to paper half the size required without telling the machine to reduce or scale the document to fit the target paper

OKI 461 error C531dn LED Colour printer.Says the paper is wrong but it isn't! It's suggesting I have to load A5 paper although I am printing A4 and it's an A4 tray. Done loads of printing before.

I suspect you have sent the job to the MP ray and it wants you to put paper in it. Cancel the job and go back into the driver and make sure paper source is set to the cassette.

Oki - how to print booklet?

The paper you have inserted into the printer, and your page size settings have to match. You can't load A4 paper and tell it to print A5 size. This is why it is printing so small on the A4 paper. It assumes you need to trim it down to A5 size after printing.

I have a canon mp 240 and it Prints fine if you only need half of the document. It cuts everything in half! Like it reads the header wrong or blows up the words or make extra spaces. How can I get it to...

I thought maybe you have the paper size set to Landscape rather than Portrait. If not, then you might look at:

http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp240#ServiceAndSupport

I did some searching on that site and it yielded the hlep below which may give you some help.

Issue: How do I set my printer so my printout fits the paper size I am using?
Solution: Use the recommended Print Area MP240

Printing Area title-bar.gif To ensure the best print quality, the machine allows a margin along each edge of media. The actual printable area will be the area inside these margins.
Recommended printing area (dark blue):
Canon recommends that you print within this area. (o_darkblue13.jpg)
Printable area (light blue):
The area where it is possible to print. (o_lightblue14.jpg)
However, printing in this area can affect the print quality or the paper feed precision.

o_area15.jpg i_note.gif Note
Borderless Printing
By selecting the Borderless Printing option, you can make prints with no margins.
bullet_s.gif When performing Borderless Printing, slight cropping may occur at the edges since the printed image is enlarged to fill the whole page.
bullet_s.gif For Borderless Printing, use the following paper.
- Glossy Photo Paper "Everyday Use" GP-501
- Photo Paper Glossy GP-502
- Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss SG-201
- Photo Paper Pro Platinum PT-101
- Photo Paper Plus Glossy II PP-201
-Photo Paper Pro II PR-201
- Matte Photo Paper MP-101
Performing Borderless Printing on any other type of paper may substantially reduce printing quality and/or result in printouts with altered color hues.
Borderless Printing on plain paper may result in printouts with reduced quality. Use them only for test printing. You can perform Borderless Printing on plain paper only when printing from your computer.
bullet_s.gif Depending on the type of paper, Borderless Printing may reduce the print quality at the top and bottom edges of the paper or cause these parts to become smudged.

I bought canon printer MF4150 from Singapore. The problem is when i print or photo copy A4 or legal size after 1 printer it errors and said load proper size @ MP tray

The printer may have a setup for a region which will change the paper size. Also the paper tray may need to have the paper size adjusted on it physically. Save the paper size in the preferences to A4.

Card making

This machine will only print certain sizes as borderless. A5 is not one of them. You can use the following media with this feature: Matte Paper - Heavyweight: A4, Letter Premium Glossy Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 5 x 7", 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6", 8 x 10" Photo Paper:A4 Premium Semigloss Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" Glossy Photo Paper:Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" As you can see A5 is not in the list, therefor you will not be able to print A5 borderless via the normal means.
