Hello, it depends where the sound is coming from,if it's in the supply water line it could be caused by water hamer or the inlet side of the solenoid valve might be clogged up with sediment. Water hammer is when the solenoid closes under high water pressure and a water hammer arresters should be installed. If the sound is coming directly from the solenoid valve and is more of a chattering sound then there is a loose low voltage wire or the solenoid is going bad. If you disconnect the power to the solenoid and the chattering stops then solenoid must be replaced as it is the cause of the noise.

General 1042-L not putting moisture in the air. Water valve is open and getting to the filter. The unit is clean.

What's the best way to clean a 1042 filter

best solution I have found to clean them is to buy yourself some (CLR) seems to work the best, I would recommend soaking as much of it as possible, the longer you let it work the better the results, hope that helped
