Cannot get menu to come up. Keypad seems locked. How do I unlock it? Thank you for your help.

Keypad lock:

1. To lock the keypad press Menu then Star (*) key.
2. To unlock the keypad press Unlock (Menu key) then Star (*).

It is not lightening fast. It should be done in two seconds after you press unlock.
To permanently unlock it you must go to Menu->Tools->Settings->General->Security->Phone and SIM Card->Keypad Autolock Period. Here you must disable it. Then your phones keyboard will not lock up automatically.
I hope it works. I have told you the sequence from my E71.

Keypad lock
To prevent accidental key presses, select Menu, and press * within 3.5 seconds to lock
the keypad.
To unlock the keypad, select Unlock, and press * within 1.5 seconds. If
the security keyguard is on, enter the security code when requested.
To set the keypad to lock automatically after a preset time when the
phone is in the standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Phone >
Automatic keyguard > On.
To answer a call when the keypad is locked, press the call key. When you end or reject
the call, the keypad locks automatically.
When the device or keypad is locked, calls may be possible to the official emergency
number programmed into your device.

To Lock your phone
Hold down the # symbol on your phone until it says: "Phone Keypad is now Locked"

To Unlock your phone
The screen should now read in the bottom right hand corner "Unlock". press the corresponding key. It then asks "Unlock Keypad?" "Yes" or "No". Select Yes and press Menu button (also the play/pause button).

You can manually lock the keypad to avoid pressing keys by accident. You can still answer an incoming call and the keypad will lock again when the call is finished. The keypad remains locked until you unlock it manually.
Depending on your phone model, you can activate the automatic keylock. When the automatic keylock is activated, the keypad locks shortly after you stop pressing keys.
Please note: with some phones you can still use external keys when the keypad is locked. If you wish to lock the external keys you must lock them separately.

first, take out the battery and press the RED end call key for 15 seconds, then put the battery back in and turn on the phone.

when the phone is asking for the lock code , press the menu key - it should ask for the security code if you have not changed it then enter 000000 now you can master reset the phone bak to it's default.
