SOURCE: I have to keep rendering after every little edit in final cut pro

I found a video online that helps with this problem. It might be due to your render settings. Also, some edits do in fact need rendering, some edits do not. Take a look at this video and I hope it solves your problem:

I have an apple laptop, how do I transfer from my camcorder to a dvd on my apple.

You do not need drivers to get the footage from tape to a Mac. You do require a firewire cable and use iMovie or Final Cut to capture.

I have a JVC GZ-HD300 Hard disc video camera and when using Everio Mediabrowser which comes with the camera download to convert my videos the conversion leaves the finished video blurred

Hi.

If the original footage was sharp, that means that you are probably using wrong compression parameter or format on Everio, while doing conversion.

If the source movie was blurred instead, try using the Advanced Image Stabilisation option, usually available in new JVC HD camcorder menu.

Everio has different quality settings. Each time you increase compression you lower quality.

Also ensure that the camera was not in a low definition setting.

Regards.

Ginko.

NO SOUND TRANSFERS TOGETHER WITH THE VIDEO TO MY COMPUTER

This happened to me. I know the solution. I uninstalled everio mediabrowser program that came on cd with the camcorder. The result was that I could not hear the sound when I played my videos. If you install Everio Mediabrowser again, the audio will play.

I want to put my movie segments onto the hard drive of my PC and edit Can this be done? I can't even get my movies out of the mediabrowser yet and I might add I have tried back up as the manuad says but it...

Sorry guys I have found out the problem. It is the software (Mediabrowser) that is causing all the problems. I have taken it off and reloaded it several times now . Now it lets me load the files but won't let me move them at all and all the drop down menu's the boxes are blank or all grayed out. It won't even let me delete unwanted files. For the founders in video technology I think JVC should get their act together and put out some decent software. Sorry. Wouldn't recommend JVC to anyone

JVC CAMCORDER GZ-HD7U

You CAN NOT use the Firewire to capture your footage like DV or HDV camcorders. I too Have a macbook pro and use FCPS2 to edit my footage. If you want to get the footage off of the HD7u, you'll have to connect via USB2.0 and download the .TOD files and use a program to convert them. I use MPEGStreamclip. It will work with the .TOD files and convert them to a format that iMovie or FInal Cut will understand. If this is not for professional work you'll probably be fine converting the footage to the HDV standard or DV standard and not have to render in FCP to edit the footage.
Caution... MPEG2 codec may be needed. If you have FCP or have Quicktime pro, you probably already have it other wise you can purchase it from apple for $29.99 or if you try real hard (not to hard) you can probably find it on a torrent for free.
I hope this helps your situation
