I brought myself a bread machine. I made the "cracked wheat sandwich bread" recipe that was in booklet that came with the bread machine. Well the bread rise up onto the cover. What a mess. It was very tasty but.!!! I try in again today and I use less yeast. I put 2 tsp instead of 4. Well it went to the cover again but not as bad. Do you have a tryed recipe for this bread.

Try using 2 Tbsp less flour. 2Tbsp less liquid 1/4 tsp more salt.and fresh yeast. Do not scoop flour out of bag with cup, Always put flour into measuring cup with a spoon and level off withe the back of a knife. Scooping it out of the bag makes the flour compacted and gives too much flour. Breadmaker recipes have to be exactly correct for best results. good luck.

My black &decker bread machine is not working with wheat recipe

Does the wheat recipe work on the dough setting? If so just make it by hand. Too expensive to have ti fixed, if the programming has gone loopy. :-)

Yes, many machines warm up a little when you choose the wheat setting, also if your manual shows the cycle times for the various programs you will probably notice a different Knead time (more) vs. the basic program and that is because whole wheat flour lacks enough gluten to make a nice, large, soft loaf, so to compensate it has a longer knead. Even with that though your whole wheat loaves are probably going to be shorter than a 100 whole wheat loaf.
Many bakers ( me included) add purchased wheat gluten and add that to the flour, (be sure to remove and equal amount of w. wheat flour from the recipe if you do this) to get a softer, higher, better texture loaf.

Hi, the recipe says bake at "White" the model

Use program #1 if you are using a recipe that contains regular bread flour. If using a combination of bread flour and whole wheat flour and whole wheat is 50% or more of the flour mix use the whole wheat program. Your manual will tell you which program # is the whole wheat one.

I just purchased my bread machine and was excited to use it so i tried to bake whole wheat bread... i followed all the instructions and exact ingredients but my bread turned out undone... the top was not...

Don't get discouraged. Most new users of bread machines make some mistakes in the beginning.
Some things to remember: Don't lift the lid and peak inside... you'll let heat out especially during baking....recommend rapid rise yeast not active dry....I use half the salt recipes call for especially with whole wheat. Recommend you try some recipes first with unbleached bread flour, basic white bread recipes so you'll get a good rise and get your confidence up and then try whole wheat.
Maybe some of these tips will help ....

Found this on another website... not sure where... just had it copied to my word document... but here it is.

Warm up sandwich maker first…. Then spray with cooking spray.

Fruit pies

Collapsed bread
