Re: My picture has a green circular section and a purple...
That happens with magnets and could be caused by the magnets on the speakers, some green or purple stay forever, but some disappear when you unplug and unplug the tv repeatedly or with other magnets.

Purple color on screen denotes absence of green color. Check the vidieo output section circuit board for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjacent solder terminals. This board can be located at the neck of the picture tube, will diretly plugged on to it.
Theres a problem in colour section of your television. The color trnsistor output is either shorted or open. There are three color output trnsistor, the red, blue and green driver output.Need to replace color output.
If your picures are all purple it means that the green colour is missing. TV colour is made up by mixing Red, Green & Blue. Removing Green leaving Red & Blue makes purple. Study the green colour circuit for a fault and confirm that the green gun inside the tube is working.
you either have a color purity problem or a convergence problem. purity can be effected by electro magnets in power supplys of audio amps and subwoofers too close to the tv
Convergence is the ability of the red green blue to drop on top of each other. can usally be adjusted via remote control. Please claify and repost.

Hi,your problem is not with the tube but with the degausing circuit,a very easy repair which should not cost to much,a small componant called a possister in the primary power supply,a 5 min job for a competant tv engineer
