Samsung DLP TV HLM437W turns on just fine. Good picture and sound. After about 30 seconds, the TV suddenly turns off sound and picture, and 3 blinking lights show on the front screen. Allegedly, this is an indication the bulb has gone out, but the picture is just fine before the bulb goes out.

all 3 lights blinking means lamp has a fault the service manual says replace the lamp. If you need the service training manual for that model let me know and I will post the link as the training manual has excellent trouble shooting breakdowns for that model DLP

Remove your new bulb and examine the connector carefully. The inexpensive replacement bulbs tend to arc and ruin your $700 ballast; sad to say. If everything looks good, make sure the interlock switch on the bulb cover opening is engaging. It won't fire up if it thinks that door is open.

The N series, needs to be told via service menu options, what type of bulb is being installed.

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.
