MY 42 IN POLARIOD TV WILL NOT COME ON AND THEIR IS NO RED LIGHT TO SHOW THE POWER IS ON TRIED DIFFERENT OUTLETS

I have a new power supply and my light stay solid red on my LG tv. Has anyone experienced this. I ordered the power supply from Sears. Someone please help a brother.

try your tv in another part of the house and if it dos not work then the internal fuse may be gone

1. Check all cable and input connections are secure & all are tightly connected.
2.Check power cords and also power outlet , if possible try to unplug and reconnect . A replacement of power cable or use another power outlet is another good option.
3. If you are sure that power is reaching your TV(check it out with a test lamp that both neutral & ground or earthing is functioning, i.e. the test lamp glows) then probably the power board needs replacement.

Hi,
There are two possible causes for this problem, either AC cord is internally broken or power supply board got defective for some reason.
Let me know model number of tv to find out helpful info/ suggest a solution.

Power board have dead capacitors,like puff up,burst open.Look for those Capacitors replaced them.Should power up tv right away after that.

THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD HAS FAILED AND NEEDS REPLACING. VERY COMMON PROBLEM

The Fuse in the televison might of gone out.

Does the red light come on on the front of the TV to let you know it is getting power? Does the menu come on? If the menu desn't come or the red light you might need to take it to RCA or a good repair place. If you checked different outlets it sseems to be a TV problem.

on the back of the TV where the power cord plugs into the back of the tv there is a small black on/off switch- it's not as obvious as you would think.... but that was turned off. Not sure how that happened since the back of the Tv was never touched when it went dead- but I unplugged the cord from the back of the tv and from the outlet and reset that switch and it worked.
