Did you open the printer and remove the cradle lock and packing. These are shipped with new printers to keep the internal components from moving during transport. Open the front door and make sure all of the packing is removed and the print cartridges are installed correctly.

Not sure if it's the same problem as yours or not..... Even when the printer is turned off, it will make a noise about once an hour or so. It sounds like the print heads 'un-park' then park themselves again. Strange......

My Printer wont print or scan!! It makes strange sounds when it turns on and off. Please help!!

Try to check and observe plastic gear may some of them broke or worn-out, of course scanning not work if error indicated on the machine. This occurs mostly on all in one printer scanner machine.

Printer makig noise

Hello,

First try to check the printer for any stuck or jam paper inside. Sometimes this one can cause abnormalities on the mechanical to work, and result giving a strange sound and may also can cause a damged on the unit.

Better to inspect and check it first. or better to call a printer tech to do it for you.

Just update me again here

check and clean the inside of the printer. (maintainence). make sure the ink cartridge is out of the printer, and the don't have any ink smear where it shouldn't have.
you might have to get a small screw driver to tighten down some of the screws.
make sure the paper tray is attached to the pirnter correctly and tight, nothing broken.
I don't know if you can discribe what kind of strange sound?

No longer able to print

Look and see how many pages it's printed out if possible, You may need a maintenance kit with fuser. Also the age of the computer affects parts.

Paper is printing but top edge of paper is creased and torn

It sounds like your maintenance kit is defective.
The excess oil leads me to believe that.

Black stripes ove the page

Try cleaning your ink nozzles or ink jets. It sounds like you have a plugged nozzle or two. Your printer program should have maintenance options that allow you to test for plugged nozzles and clean them.
In control panel, open the printing/fax icon, right click on your printers icon, left click properties, then on the bottom of the page the panel that opens you will see a button that says printing preferences, and that should open your print program.
