When I load my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S3958 It loads up saying it didn't shut down successfully. I tried all the modes from safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, and Star windows normally. However when I select them it goes to the login screen; when I try to log in it starts to load but then gets a blue page that states that its crashed and then it reboots. It continues to do so even after I shut my computer down over night hoping that it would work. Any assistance in this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

I hope that you have a goood back-up of file. Getting blue screen error is a fatal OS problem. You need to re-install windows. You need to get the CD that came with your computer or the operating system disc you used to install the windows. Insert the disc on the CD-DVD drive and restart your computer. Watch for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD... message. Installation will start. Good Luck!

I cant reformat my toshiba harman kardon?what seems to be the problem?

Try loading it into safe mode, to do this turn off your computer turn it back on and as it starts up hit F8 over and over until you get a black screen with white text that you can scroll through. Then look for something that says "Start windows in safe mode" and select that with the arrow keys to move and the enter button to select. If windows does not enter in safe mode, you may want to post clearer information as to what happens when it loads/doesn't load.

My toshiba satellite M645-S4045 doesn't want load up the system! How can I turn it on in the safe mode?

To access safe mode in Windows: From a completely powered down state, turn on the computer. At the Toshiba splash screen, start tapping the F8 key (top row of your keyboard). This will load a menu selection that has safe mode. Use the arrow key to highlight safe mode and then hit return. A mess of text will load on the screen and then a few moments later the computer should ask you to confirm you want safe mode.

I hope this helps

Window 7 every 20 minutes hang

Many things could be causing this, the first thing I would do is boot into safe mode and see if the issue continues.
Safe Mode

Just before the Windows 7 splash screen (black with windows logo) appears, press the F8 key to enterAdvanced Boot Options.

You should now see the Advanced Boot Options screen. If not, you may have missed the short window of opportunity to press F8 in the previous step and Windows 7 is probably now continuing to boot normally assuming it's able to. If this is the case, just restart your computer and try pressing F8 again.

Here you are presented with three variations of Windows 7 Safe Mode you may enter:

  • Safe Mode - This is the default option and is usually the best choice. This mode will load only the absolute minimum processes necessary to start Windows 7.

Hi There,
Note: Below steps are for win 7, vista and if you are user any other operating system like win 10,win 8 then mention in next post.

The best and easy method I will suggest you to activate your windows hidden admin account and for that follow the below steps:-
Boot your computer into safe mode with networking
Shutdown the system>>press power button to reboot and immediately start pressing f8(for win7,vista)>>go to safe mode with command prompt>>run below command
Net user administrator /active:yes
Hit Enter and you should see a message that says, "The command completed successfully".

reboot to new admin account and copy your old your account data into admin account or create a new user admin account and copy data.

if this does not work than revert back, I will be happy to assist you.

I have a toshiba laptop & half the keys on the keyboard won't work

Try to go first to Safe Mode.

Bring up the "Start" menu. Select the "Shut Down" option and then click "Restart."

Wait for the Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop to begin its restart procedure. Press the "F8" key at regular intervals (every 3-4 seconds) when the Toshiba logo pops up on the screen.

Continue tapping the "F8" button until the advanced Windows options menu appears. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of advanced Windows options.

Highlight the option labeled "Safe Mode." Press the "Enter" key and wait for the operating system to load in safe mode.

On Safe Mode try to use the keys that are not working if it's woking it's a software problem and you need to have a System Restore for the laptop.

If it's still not working go to BIOS Settings of the laptop try to reset it to default settings.

Hit the "Power" button to turn on the computer. Press the F2 key on the keyboard. This must be done prior to the operating system loading; if the Windows OS logo has popped up, it is too late. Boot into Windows, restart the computer, and try again.

Pressing F2 on a Toshiba laptop takes you directly into the BIOS, and any settings can now be changed.

If you have successfully entered the BIOS Phoenix press F9 there will be an option that will pop out after pressing F9 the choose yes, after that press F10 there will be an option that says "Save and Quit." This will save any changes you've made, exit out of the BIOS, and restart the computer. Choose yes again, after that process the laptop will boot up now to your Windows Screen.

Try to use again the keys that are not working, if it's still not working definitely that's a hardware problem, you need to contact Toshiba Technical Support here's the phone number

800-247-7777

to assist you further with this problem or you can drop your laptop to a nearest Authorize Service Provider for Toshiba near in your place.

Hope this helps. :-)

When computer is turned on the windows error recovery is that windows did not shut down successfully. So I choose safe mode to start windows. Window loads files and then just goes into Welcome and then...

Ok, well try this, Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems there may only be one or two to choose from. just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you.

Last windows update now I can't boot it up. Window screen comes up and then shuts the computer down and statr all over again

Ensure NO media is plugged in first ie CD / mem stick.
May not be the Windows update. try booting into safe mode using F8 key, if you can access windows that way then problem is a program thats trying to load. To stop programs from loading go to safe mode
If windows wont load in safe mode then registry is corrupted.

Toshiba Satellite A105 problems

Sounds like a program is not loading properly. You should try to load in Safe Mode, And see if it starts properly. If it does you then can do the diagnostics to find which program is trying to load and shuts machine down. You may also try starting in step by step and catch it right away. Depending on your version of Windows you are running you may be able to restore to a previous time when your machine worked right. Good Luck and have a good day.
