Batteries may need to be recharged or replaced if the error persists after battery recharge or replacement the unit may require a service evaluation. If the batteries currently in the device and it is not working properly, remove the batteries and wait for 30 seconds and re-insert the batteries. In doing so if your camera has a back-up or date and time battery, remove this battery as well. Removal of the back-up battery will cause a full reset of the camera and will clear any settings, including date and time.

I've had my ZR90 Mini DV for a couple years. Just stopped working and bought new batteries. I fully charged it and it still won't turn on. What could be the problem
This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My jvc camcorder GZ-MG37U will not charge
Camcorder has charging circuit but it could go defective. The repair would be costly so in this situation, you can purchase stand-along battery charger for around $20 and charge the batteries independently. Cannon-ZR90 -- Need to transfer recorded motion pictures on CD/DVD
I use Pinnacle Studio Suite. It works really good with Canon. Once the DV cable is plugged in and you turn it on Windows will pop up the option right away to work with Studio.

Red flashing icon
Mine had that too. It means the backup battery is low. It's located in a panel behind the LCD screen. You can find details on page 19 of the users manual. If you don't have your manual, you can download it for free from canon's website.

Defective ccd imager!! company will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released unit has a factory defect ccd imager. the company recalled those units and replaced with a stronger version of ccd imager ( they are still doing it). check it out.
