I just wondering because it should auto detect by your OS but anyway you can use Intel PRO 100/1000 network driver instead.

The network adapter Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) is experiencing driver or hardware related issues

Hi there,

If you are able to get on the Internet, you'll want to download the latest drivers. (See below). If you can't get on the Internet, you'll need to find a computer that can, then download the drivers to a disc or small flash drive.
You can get the latest drivers for your Network Card here: http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-RTL8168-8111-PCI-E-Gigabit-Ethernet-NIC/3000-2112_4-99235.html

I think my network card is bad. My internet / email isn't working on my desktop (although it works fine on my laptop). And the computer is not recognizing anything when I type ipconfig. So, i think i need...

since the network card is built onto the motherboard reinstalling the driver would be the best first option.

HERE is the link to the driver.
Broadcom827.exe - Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet driver Version: 8.27.1.0
Supports: Windows XP
Note: This is the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet driver for use with the Big Lake, Cortez, and Putton Bay motherboards in Windows XP.

I would try that first.

One of two 3com pci gigabit ethernet cards is not working

If you have the driver disk that was distributed with the card , try reinstalling the card drivers first.

If the card is faulty, buy a new pci ethernet adapter and replace it, inserting the ethernet adapter into the pci slot.

After installing install drivers for the new card with the disk that will come with the card.

Ensure that you are logged in as administrator when you reinstall the drivers.
