Altec Lansing T612 - High End Speaker Remote Control For iPhone/iPod - Black Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 10, 2011

Hi, I need a replacement part for an Altec Lansing ipod dock. The part I need is what the ipod plugs into. I have removed the part and is has quite a few numbers on it. The numbers are as follows: M612D_01.MAX , A12822 , 194v-0 , 3308N. The ribbon wire clips into the part. Does anyone know where I can get the part I am looking for. Thanks for any help Greg

I need the A12822 replacement Ipod connector for my Altec Lansing T612 Docking station,Are these available

From the T612 the description of the Auxiliary input is;

Additional Features; MP3 player jack
Connector Type; 1 x Audio line-in ( Mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm )

Any audio cable with with a 3.5mm stereo jack on each end should be suitable.
To check it, see if the earbuds that fit the iPod will plug into the T612.

The altec lansing inmotion does not charge my new ipod nano. What I can do

Maybe this could be the solution...

"...
Important Note: iPods released since Sept 2008 (e.g. Touch 2nd Gen, 4th Gen iPod Nano and iPod Classic 120 Gigabyte, iPhone 3g and onwards) have an updated dock connector that means older revisions of speaker dock may not be able to charge these newer models of iPod/iPhone. Older docks should play music from these newer models with no problem.
The problem with charging is due to Apple removing support for 12v (firewire) charging on these new models of iPod/iPhone. Only 5v (USB) charging is supported on these new models. ..."

Inmotion speeker dock wont charge new ipod touch

This is because you are using different generations.

If the dock was only meant for 1st generation, then itwill only charge 1st generation. It's how they make their money.

5th generation iPods hose up while using Altec Lansing IM600

Yes, the docking station is damaging the iPod. The vibration when used load is causing damage to the iPod. If you notice, the iPod will only freeze when it is playing load in the docking station. To avoid the problem, you'll need to play the music at a lower sound with less vibration. Once I began to play my music at more reasonable sound levels, I discontinued the problem. Very disappointing solution...but it is the answer. I too called Altec Lansing. They are not aware of this issue...I told them to search the internet - it's all out there.

Sub Woofer to Sound Dock

Well if you are talking about the iM600 sounddock from Altec Lansing, the short answer is no. If you want better bass from an IPOD docking system you'll need to buy an expensive component from say Scandyna Dock or you could build one yourself. You would need an integrated amp or a complete system like the NAD C71. This would allow you to plug in a self-powered sub.
