My trigger is leaking air

Many Bostitch nailers, including yours, use trigger valve #TVA6 available thru many suppliers including ebay for about 17.95 for generic to 26.95 for factory. If you have a source for orings, you could replace the faulty oring within the valve on the spool. It will be evident when you take apart the valve. The oring must fit very tightly in place on the spool because the spool does not actually have an oring groove. The seal that fits the spool is actually flat on one side and remains in place with a small ridge on the spool. The small ridge is not in the correct place to hold an oring and Bostitch does not sell the part needed. If your are a tinker-er, you can carefully file a nice oring groove on the spool and use an oring. I use small lathe to cut the groove but you can use a small file turn the spooll with a hand drill. Use a small shaft that fits into the hole in the top of the spool and into hand drill (aprox. 3/16 inch shaft just a couple of inches long). What ever you use, do not damage the inside of the spool because one oring on the trigger pin fits inside the spool. Sand the shaft that you are using to a slight taper that allows you to fit the spool. If you remove too much metal just use a piece of black tape for snugg fit. Easier to replace valve with new but that is not as fun than remaking part to take a 10 cent oring. Good luck.

How to remove leaking trigger valve on Stanley-Bostitch Nailers

If you are having a problem with air leaking out of the trigger area it is usually a split o ring on the valve assembly. To remove the trigger valve there are 3 roll pins that have to be removed and usually one is shorter so lay them out in the order removed first the trigger and the 2 holding the valve in place. Next get a shop rag or glove and place under the valve holding it in place while holding back the collar on the quick connect (so it won't lock) push it onto the tool and the valve will JUMP out of the tool. Get the replacement valve and before reassembling lightly coat the o rings, you will notice 2 cutouts on the valve which must be aligned with the roll pin holes, push the new valve in and align the slots for easier assembly reassemble in reverse order.

I have a bostitch ridge runner that leaks air badly out of the trigger and wondering how to take out the plastic trigger in the gun. Also what would be the cause of the air leak

The air leak can be one of a few things. FIrst make sure that you have added some pneumatic oil to the air stream. This will lubricate the o-rings and make a tight seal. If that fails to resolve it, repalce the o-rings. (kits available for around $20). Next, woul dbe the trigger assembly itself. These triggers wear over time and are easily replaced.

See the website below for parts and a good diagram of the construction of the gun. You should be able to replace the parts by following the diagrams.

Please note that the exactmodel number is required to get hte correct diagram.

Hope this helps,

How do you install Bostitch TVA6 Trigger Valve Kit

FOLLOW closely, take a small pin punch and knock out the pins holding the trigger in place and then the 2 pins for the valve, one is probably longer. Next get a shop rag or good glove and holding back the collar that locks the air fitting to the tool push the chuck on the air inlet while holding your gloved hand or rag under the valve assembly. It will POP out make sure not to lock the chuck to the tool. Loghtly grease the o rings and make sure that you align the slots on the new one with the holes where the pins go. reassemble in reverse order.

I need help replacing a bostitch framing air nailer trigger model 28ww it's leaking air and won't work.

follow closely, do you have a new trigger assembly because the problem is with one o ring commonly referred as the purple o ring in the kits? either way the procedure to remove the trigger is first knock out the roll pin for the trigger latch and then the 2 roll pins for the trigger assembly. next get a shop rag or equivelant and place under the now exposed trigger assembly and then while holding the collar on the air chuck plug into tool and hold rag tight and trigger will "pop" out pull the chuck away and remove the 2 pins to disassemble the assembly or install in reverse order lubricating the o rings first. Let me know if you have any questions or problems.

Air blows thru the trigger on my bostitch air nailer model 28ww ho do you tear down to replace the O ring?

remove the roll pin holding the trigger latch assembly and then the 2 roll pins on the valve itself. Get a shop rag and place over the valve and then while holding the collar on the air fitting hold the rag in place and push the fitting onto the air chuck and the trigger valve will pop out. the remove the 2 pins holding the bottom of the valve together and remove till you get to the split o ring on the assembly.

Air is leaking around the trigger. N60FN. How do you replace it?

Yes, you have to drive out the pins. There currently is no rebuild kit. Depending on when your was built there are solutions though.
Carefully drive out the trigger pin first. Then the one retaining the trigger assembly. The trigger assembly is in there pretty good, carefully work it out. Once you remove it, there are two small steel pins holding it together. Remove those...careful there is a spring inside. You can see what's been compromised. Like I said, there don't make repair kits for these, but you can order a replacement assembly.

Good luck.

I'm looking for a picture how to remove the trigger assembly for my bostitch nail gun model N80SB

You can go to Stanley Bostitch.com and look at a breakdown. you can also unplug the air line and you will find 2 roll pins holding the trigger valve in place and 1 holding the trigger itself, remove all of them and then FOLLOW closely, wrap a shop rag around the handle area of the trigger to completely encase it. Then holding back on the release portion of your air hose so you can pull it off immediately, push it on the adaptor and you will hear a POP REMOVE immediately and then remove rag and the trigger should be in it. If you are uncomfortable doing this don't even attempt, its not that hard just take your time. Let me know if I can help further and if I have helped you would you please rate my reply accordingly and thank you.

Constant air leak

Sounds like you need a repair kit or take to a tool company that installs the kit.
