The music format is only support MP3, WMA, MP4, and the video you can use FLV or AVI, I think you need to convert your youtube music video to AVI format, maybe you can try to use Leawo Video Converter.

The Boss BV9976B supports playback of JPEG/MP4 and DIVX formats. Double-check to make sure your movies are in one of these formats. Then triple-check. Download a converter to convert your movies to the proper format.
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Click on this link for instructions on converting video files for MP3 players :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_player MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. Yes, I just got this unit and installed it today. The reason for this is this unit isn't capable of playing the ipods. You have to put the music on a flash drive to use the usb function. Which to me wasn't a big deal because I only use my ipod in my car anyway. The bv9999bi is the newer model of this unit and can play ipods. But i wasn't going to send this one back to get that one cause then I would have to pay for reinstallation when I could just put the songs on a flash drive. I love this unit btw.
i had the same problem. It is illegal to watch videos while driving hence why they dont tell you how to play youtube off of card and usb. But after hours of testing converted videos here what works for me.
download pazera free flv to avi converter. after that you will have to custom convert the videos with these settings....video format is MPG custom MPEG-2/ FPS 29.97. Audio mp3-mpeg- layer 3/ bit rate 128 and i added stereo-2 for kicks. last but not least custom resolution 720x480. convert and it works :)

Hello there, the JVC unit can play 2 video file formats these are JPEG/MPEG. To watch video you need to have USB audio and video cable for ipod/iphone, KS-U30 to the usb cable from the rear of the unit. When this connection has been made you touch [SRC] then select iPod. When you connect your ipod/iphone to the USB terminal if it is not selected automatically you can select it from the SRC menu. You can check this out on page 49 of the user guide. Also the unit only supports certain file formats which are mpeg and jpeg and also of a certain resolution. This can also be found on page 59 of the user guide. Hope this support has been helpful? Thank you for visiting FixYa.
