I've been given this really sad looking old 6th or 7th hand electric guitar (I have no idea what make or model it is, no identifying marks) and I am setting about replacing the electrics on it. It has two single coil pickups, two volume, two capacitors (473J) and two tone controls. No switching. Some of the existing wiring looks a bit sad and I am not 100% sure that I necessarily trust how it has previously been wired up. Do you have a correct wiring diagram to suit this setup?

What you need is a complete set up as your truss rod is out of adjustment and bridge is too low. Your local guitar shop can help you out for around $50.

Since the picture shows a saxophone, it's kinda hard to tell what kind of guitar it is...but there are a couple of things to check.

Sometimes, if you use a flashlight and can look inside the box you will see a manufacturers mark or sticker which will identify it. Sometimes there will be a mark or sticker on the neck. Also, any professional guitarist familiar with Fenders should know specifically where the fender identifying marks are. Finally, any good music instrument store ought to be able to clearly identify it and tell you what its worth.

Above all, if you are able to identify it as a Fender, get two or three appraisals. Fenders have a way of appreciating in value so don't sell it until you know what you've got and what it's really worth.

string like you would a right hand guitar for a right hand player so when you face a right handed player, it appears to both of you that you are sort of looking in a mirror. It makes it easier to learn that way too.
