From the descriptions it likely the magnetron has failed. If you have a digital multimeter post me a comment and I will give instructions to do a rough test.
I have the same problem. A repair person said that he thought it was the megatron (whatever that is) He suggested just using the microwave until it quits.
It sounds like the main transformer has failed. It would be cheaper to replace the whole microwave than repair this one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Hope this helps. Good luck.
The unit was taken into a repair shop. The repairman said the magnetron shorted out and the unit failed. Fortunately, the unit had a 5 yr warrantee on the magnetron (1-yr on everything else). Total out of pocket costs are estimated at $65 to reinstall a new magnetron plus the aggravation of two weeks without a microwave. Those are pretty handy devices to be without!
I have a GE Profile Spacemaker model JVM3670WF001, purchased I think in 2003. Pop sound, no Heat. Light goes on, carousel goes around, Repair or new microwave
