I cant log i i changed name / pwd and forget it. i had it unplugged for a year but still cant log ijn how can i reset pasword or retrieve log in info?

Hi murple_1, these instructions, will help you "reset your password!"

Part 1
To Reset: "Password"
Do the following:

1. Turn-on the D-Link to start the "Set-up Screen"
   
2. Type: [Ip Address] in the "Web Browser Address Bar"
   
3. Check the User's Manual / Guide for [Address] ie: 192.168.../...
   
4. Next, use the {Default} User Name: ie. "administrator" in lowercase to Log-in!
   
5. In the (Password) box: Leave it "Blank! = "No Password"
   
6. Next, click on the "Wizard" button; to run the configurations."
   
7. There will be "Options" to "Change the Password!"
   
8. Now reset the Time-zone.
   
9. Next, "Reset the Internet Connections."
   
10. "Follow all the instructions afterward!"
    
11. To finish: "Restart the D-link."
    

Part 2

To Reset: "Password"

Hold - [Down] "Reset Button, in the back of the D-Link for 15 - 45 seconds"

You will need to do a factory reset on the router by holding the "reset" button on the back while the router is plugged in for 5-10 seconds (the LEDs will indicate that the router is restarting).

After you've reset the router to factory defaults you can log into it by opening a web browser, going to http://192.168.0.1, and using a password of "admin" (there is no username).

You can reset your router back to factory default.
Look at the back of the router:

There's a very small button on the right hand side labeled "reset".

While the router is plugged in, use the end of a paperclip or ballpoint pen and push in this button, holding it pushed in for 10 seconds.

Let go and then let your router reset and start up again, this usually takes about 3 minutes.

It should now be set back to it's default settings.
