Corner tints and white lines

When watching top left corner has red tint and the right top corner has green tint. Couple of days ago white diagonal lines appeared and yesterday diagonal lines in the other direction appeared forming diamond shapes in screen. Is my tv about to die????????

  • jenandal Jul 31, 2008

There was a considerable amount of dust inside. I used a compressed gas duster and the lines went away. The tinting in the corners is still there. It may be a picture tube issue but I can deal with that later. The screen came back perfect.

Green tint to picture.

Are you using the componant connection on your tv? If so, check the red, blue and green cable connections on both ends. They carry your
picture info to the tv. The audio is carried by a red and white cable. There should be 5 cables for a componant connection. 2 reds, 1 white, 1 blue and 1 green. I hope I have guessed your problem correctly and this helps you.

46 toshiba plasma has red tint in back ground

If you can see the red tint with every input source and also in the On-Screen Menu, then this indicates that the Green phosphor is burning off of the screen faster than the Red and Blue. This is typical of plasma screens. Even if you dont watch a lot of golf or football, green is the most dominent color and burns out of the phosphur pits(pixels) faster than the Red and Blue. Take away green, you are left with Reddish looking screen and Pink whites. This is not repairable.
If the Menu looks nice and white, check your source cables.
Good luck

I can't seem to correct a tint problem. The tv turns on and the tint doesn't change. A friend says it could be a vidoe card?

Go to menue on controller, then Picture, then adjust Color and Tint to you taste. The color ajusts Blue and Green move left more blue move the slider right more green. The Tint controlls red. More red move right less left. Also chech Color temp setting.

Can"t find white or comfortable background screen other than a light green that is hurting my eyes

If you have a screen that gets "tints" of various colors on a corner or edge, check that the monitor plugin cable is not near or laying on top of a power cable, the magnetic field around a power cord will cause a monitor to get strange tints or lines in the screen. Option two if the entire screen has a tint equally all over it is possibly the color is out of adjustment or failing - a technician should be able to adjust it internally.

Red tint on screen

Good Day,

Try resetting the TV by unplugging from wall outlet for 3 to5 minutes then plug back in. If no fixya take front grill off and panel and adjust the screen controls, turn color off adjust for Black & White Picture. Good Luck, big IRISH.

51f500 red tint with subtle white diagonal lines

Thats usually a isgn of a weak resistor on the red crt PC board or the red CRT getting weak. You can also try turning the RED screen control down slightly to see if that helps.

Green tint on screen

Is it a green tint at some areas alone, oris the entire image having a green tint? If it is a color patch at the corner or other areas of the screen, in all likelihood it is a degaussing problem. Color patches happen when the TV is moved from one location to another, or if some magnetic source is placed close to a CTV. Did you put a radio or Tape recorder or Walkie talkie toy or any magnetic source near the TV? if yes, remove it. And the automatic Dregaussing circuits in the TV will resolve the problem in a couple of days. But if there is an overall Green tint on the picture, it signifies a problem in the Video output stages, and there is nothing you can do, but call the technician (unless you know solid state servicing?)
