Hello and Welcomethe Canon A560's bottom panel is reasonably flat, with a sliding door to access the battery compartment and a threaded plastic tripod mount off in the opposite corner. The battery door and tripod mount are far enough away from each other to permit quick battery changes while working with most tripods To close the battery cover first Hold it and make it Flat and then by the tip of Your thumb Press it in inner side To demonstrate it the image is given below: Please advise how to close - angel_bird_0.jpg

Why I got the message "close cover - upper cover open" ?

There is a sensor on the front left side usualy that detects the cover open or closed state. Check it maybe you made a mistake at assembling it or something came in between and the sensor can't detect it.

Close the [Memory Card / Battery Cover] securely, and then turn the power on.

Clean the battery terminals with a dry cotton swab that has a fine and soft tip, and then re-insert the batteries.

Battery cover will not close when batteries are

The cover will close.

First, remove the batteries and try to close the latch.
Please "add comment" to let us know that it can close without batteries.
If it cannot close and latch, then the cover is broken.... can't fix here.

If you can close and latch it w/o batteries, then:
If you are using rechargeable batteries, they might be slightly bigger than alkaline batteries.

Put one alkaline battery in the camera and try to close and latch it. You may now know the "tricky" maneuver you have to do in order to close it with the batteries installed. Now try two batteries, etc. until you can maneuver all batteries.

I think this will work for you.
