Hello, we are using a 6125n printer in conjunction with Filemaker, and when a print command that involves sending multiple pages is sent to the printer, only the first 3 pages print, and the rest, if any, print as blanks. This happens consistently, we are using Filemaker 8 software. Thanks for your help

Does it print blank pages if you try printing to a different printer? Or printing/saving it as a PDF? What are the "parts" to your layout? Is all of the information in the "body"? Are you trying ti print multiple records? Have you done the upgrade (http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6219/kw/print%20blank%20pages/session/L3RpbWUvMTMwOTAwNTc0Ni9zaWQvV3pESm9veGs%3D)? I'm sorry that I have more questions than answers. If you can provide more detail, I would be happy to help more.

My printer HP LASER JET 5200 DTN shows "Ready" on the display but it doesn't print, how can I fix this?

First thing you need to do is establish whether the print engine itself is at fault, or not.
From the relevant printer front panel menu, invoke printing of one or more of the available reports (configuration, font list, etc.); do these print?
If the reports print OK, try to send some plain text to the device.
On a Windows system, you could do this by using the DOS copy command in conjunction with an appropruate net use command to redirect LPT1: to the (USB) port associated with the relevant Windows printer instance.

Hello, my problem is that my laserjet printer p1005 doesnt print anything.. whenever i command it from my pc it doesnt do anything.. i tried changing cartridge but still same prob.... please helllppp...

First, print an Engine Test Page.

To print an Engine Test Page, open and close the cartridge door five times while the printer is in ready mode. The printer should print one page with multiple horizontal lines.

If the engine test page printed, is a comunication problem (PC configuration,PC/Printer conection/Driver bad installed)

How can i print multiple copies of the same document with 3 pages and have the printer staple the copies in the correct groups?

In the print driver you should have the option to collate, you need to make sure that that option is on, and when you go to send the print job, you need to make sure that you adjust the finishing options in the driver to tell it to staple.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

How can I print selected pages of the Iphone manual? I have an HP printer and can't figure out how to instruct it to print selected pages, rather than the whoie manual.

Use the print command to print pages that are in a range (ie. 4-6 or 12-13) instead of nonadjacent pages. You will likely have to use the print command multiple times to achieve this.

I created a new label layout in Filemaker pro to print a 4" x 6" label. When I print this label on the Zebra LP 2844 printer it prints fine. If I try to print it on the Z4MPlus it enlarges the print and...

The easiest solution would be to create a new label layout in FileMaker specific for that printer that can be used when printing to that printer which would solve that problem.

The issue with the size being enlarged is most likely with the printer driver and not the FileMaker software so that is where I would look around to see if there is a scaling setting, or some other setting that needs to be corrected in the driver/page setup area for that printer.

I hope I've done a good job answering your question. I am a FileMaker 7 expert (and 8, 9, and 10 as well); if you have any additional questions I will do my best to answer them. Layout/Printing issues

FileMaker 5.5 is a long time ago for me, but I think I will try to answer your question (although it is likely you have a solution or no longer need one.) While in layout mode, while working on the layout, go to printer setup and choose the printer and page size you will be printing to. This will cause FileMaker to have a dashed line where the printer pages are on the layout. Anything that extends over these lines will require additional pages to print. Simply bring everything back in before these lines to limit to 1 page (including the blank space at the bottom of the page. There is a tab you will need to drag above the page break line to prevent a second page from printing. Additionally, if you cannot work it out, while printing from FileMaker if you choose the page range of 1 to 1, only 1 page will print, however, doing this prevents you from printing additional records without writing a script to do it. However, if you are able to redesign the layout to only print 1 page then you will notice there is an option on the print dialog box that indicates something to the effect of "Print current record" and "Print records currently being browsed" (Don't remember the exact wording in FileMaker 5.5); Choosing the records currently being browsed option will print all records in your current found set.

I hope I've done a good job answering your question. I am a FileMaker expert for version after 7 and have used Filemaker since version 4; if you have any additional questions I will do my best to answer them. If my answer was helpful for you I'd appreciate a 5 thumbs up rating, or a click on the yes this was helpful button. Thank you!
