I had this problem. I replaced the oven heating element and the sensor unity and still the oven wouldn't come up to temperature. I finally gave the stove a sharp rap with my fist directly above the oven control board. It has been working ever since. A little something I learned in the Navy.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

It indicates an open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the temp.sensor needs replacement. If you want to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

There should be a buzzer sound that is made by a piezo. If it isn't sounding correctly then it must have a bad solder joint on it, or the ic that controls it is malfunctioning

I have a Maytag model MER5775QAW free standing range. When you press "bake" and then set the temp. and press "bake" again the numbers instantly climb to the set temp and the buzzer beeps showing oven at...

Unplug the range open the control panel to access the electronic oven control. Unplug the wires and wait 5 minutes. Replace all wires on the control and turn the power back on.
If this does not reset your oven control it must be replaced.
Your ERC(clock) is bad and must be replaced.

Electric Oven not getting hot enough

Sir, I think the top oelement is for broiling ONLY. It should not turn on when baking. The clicking may be the oven heating up.
How far apart were the oven temp instrument and the digital?
Don't expect them to match...they are inaccurate.

1. Heat water until it boils. Place digital therm in boiling water until it comes up to 212deg. If it is not at 212 in boiling water, record the error.(this gives a rough calibration to the digital)
2 Turn on oven, set to 350 deg, place digital therm on rack. Wait until oven reaches 350 (on stove) and read the digital. Note the difference between the two
