I have a Phillips 60P8342A 60 in 2003 Projection and the screen is reddish .....Does the bulbs need to be changed...or does this one have a conveyance or would this be it because things aren't blurry everything pink reddish...
If the bulbs need to be changed where can I get them and how much are they....Can I clean them and do they all have to be changed?

Sounds more like the fluid in the blue and green CRT's needs to be replaced. Check the fluid and see if it is cloudy. If so - that is your problem. This is common for this series of tv.

GAIL,YOU NEED THE REMOTE THAT CAME WITH YOUR TV IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO ADJUST THE COLOR AND CONTRAST BRIGHTNESS YOU MUST GET INTO THE MENU TO DO THIS BUT YOU DIFFENTLY NEED THE REMOTE THAT CAME WITH THAT TV!!!
go to a unused video input and turn color off----screen there should not be red or even somewhat red, if it is the red screen control may have to be lowered just slightly.
Most likely bad convergence chips--set uses two of the stk-392-120 chips and in this case one is shorted--only way to prove it is unsolder all 18 pins on each chip and see if set powers on and stays on---will look bad but you will know one of the chips is your trouble.
The sympton for contaminated CRT coolant is objects having a halo effect on the effected CRT color. The Blue and green are the CRTs most often contaminated. But to answer the question changing coolant does help. You can look into the crt with it turned on to see if the coolant is congealed. Just be carteful not to touch any components as you look into the CRT lens.
