Projector plc-xt11 has lamp light light red and ready light green, but when i press on button it never projects a light just speeds up fan with red light in lamp position then goes back to the ready light green and lamp red. Do you think replacing the bulb will fix it

READY light is green when the projector is ready to be switched on
LAMP is dim when the projector is ON, but goes bright when it reverts to STANDBY.

Check that the lamp cover is fully down and the cover switch is activated

The air filters on projectors are very important.
You need to take them out and clean them regularly, if not projector can overheat.
Also check all the grill are not blocked, using a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment on a gentle **** is the way to clean them off.

do the follwing setting on your projector to reset the lamp hour

1.Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button to move a red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon
2 Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to "Lamp counter reset" and then press SELECT button. The message "Lamp replace counter reset?" is displayed. Move
the pointer to [Yes] and then press SELECT button.
3.Another confirmation dialog box appears and select [Yes] to reset Lamp Replace Counter.

one or more of the fans may not be working right. also, the temp sensor may be shot. if the last time you used it it wasn't shut down properly, it may still be in cool-down mode.

First, check the lamp/lamp door--the door has a safety interlock that prevents power from getting to the projector. Make sure the power *is* getting to the unit by using a known-good power cord. Also, check the 3 air filters. If one or more was clogged with dust, the unit might have had a thermal sensor trip. There is also an internal fuse on the power supply which may have blown.When was the last time the projector worked correctly? Have there ever been any power problems related to that unit before? If the above checks yield no success, the projector will have to be repaired at a service facility. Hope I was of some help---Rick

if the lamp goes out after the red led goes on, there is a fan issue and the projector is overheating or the ballast/power supply can't hold the voltage.

Have you checked the filters? I have a Sanyo PLV-75 and had a similar problem.  The normal fan would come on when the unit was first started, then after a few seconds the secondary fan came on and then the unit would shut down.  Called tech support and they asked if I had cleaned the filters. I did it, and it worked great.  Check the manual for where the filters are and hit them first before getting a new bulb.  Hope it helps!

Owner decided to upgrade to a newer projector. Lamp was too expensive.
