I have two 630035.321 on my RV. The front unit iced up last June and an ac person came and put a valve on and refilled the R22. This year the back one iced up and soaked our bed under the ac. I then ran the front one and only had minimal cold air coming out of it. In inquiring about serviceing the units, I was told that the RV mfg. will not replace the R22, but only replace . I found out in reading my extended warranty that it appears this would not be covered. Even if it would be covered each unit would have a deductible. A $1000 deductible. UGH What do you recommend?

New air conditioners are pieces of junk. R410a is nothing but a problem. R22 and parts for r22 are expensive, BUT, will last longer than any new system. I recommend repairing your unit!! Good luck!!

No its not. Bad valves are caused by dirty filers, dirty coils that cause liquid refrigerant to slug compressor and knockout the valves. Rus

SOURCE: RV AC unit won't cool, blows chuncks of ice

It's most likely an airflow problem, you say you had the vents closed? Icing up is normally caused by lack of load (air flow) or loss of refrigerant charge. Make sure all your vents are open to allow for as much airflow as possible and that your filter is clean. Some units do not work well on low airflow setting when the outdoor temps cool down at night.

Testimonial: "somewhat helpful.. I have had the AC unit on HIGH with the vents all open and same problem occurs. "

SOURCE: hello, my HVAC is constantly

Hi,
No you can not use a R-410 air handler with a R-22 condenser unit...the exspansion devices are different as the properties of the refrigerants are enough different that they are not interchangable...
Really your only choice is to replace the whole unit as it sounds like the exspansion valve or the orfice is partially clogged and it makes you constantly freeze up....
There are some things you could do to make it work at reduced capacity but it is way beyond what I could tell you through a computer...

SOURCE: I have a GE ajes12dcbm1

Hello
The ice buildup is an indication of low freon. The inner coil should feel cold and moist from the bottom to the top of the whole coil.

Before you do anything get a product called simple green degreaser and spray it on the inside and outside coils.Rince with a garden hose, try the unit again.Pay close attention to the outside coils.

If this does not work then the unit may be low on freon. Also be sure the t stat is on full cool.

What is going on with our Goodman unit?

If your going to pay that much just have them put in a new unit. It is not that much more and you can get free financing. All the repairman can do is guess and keep putting in new parts till it works. Had a new unit put in and it still didn't work found out it was a bad thermostat. But at lest we don't have the repair bills or high electric bill anymore so it paid for its self in saved money.

Where do you install R22 piercing valve on RV ac system?

R22? You're not still using that are you?! On the compressor you have a small tube that goes to the condenser (hot side) and a larger tube that comes back from the evaporator (cold side) The piercing valve goes on the cold side, Fit the guages to the valve. You should have about 3 bar with the unit running

I have a roof top ac on my rv. its about 5 years old.it will run for a while then I can see ice on it.and the air flow stops..i cut it off and wait for a few hours and then cut it back on and it works...

Any reduced air flow though the coils will cause this as well. check for dirty coils and fins as well as your filter on the inside. Althogh it is not recommended and very rarely that one of these needs a re charge it can be done by a good AC repair person, They would have to open the lines and put in valves to accept a charge but like I said these usually don't leak similar to most window type ac units they are sealed from the factory.

Where do you recharge the AC with r22?

Most rooftop RV units do not have service ports installed. You would have to get line tap valves to install in the system. The next problem would be getting some R22. Unless you have and EPA CFC certification you cannot buy R22.

No cold air. Unit runs fine.

There are a variety of probable causes of your AC's failure to blow cool air. Unfortunately, it is difficult to diagnose your situation without being there. However, I have a great, handy diagnostic article that specifies the main problems so that you can definitely come to find the cause applicable to your AC's failure. I'm not too familiar with RV AC's and how they may differe a bit from house AC's, but your AC very well may need a recharge of refrigerant/Freon by a technician, but short of that, try this first:

This should defintely help.
Good luck!

Can you tell me what type of refrigerant is in my a/c it is a 15 k btu dometic brisk air roof top unit and is about 4-5 years old.I can't find it on the unit also how much will it hold and if its not 134 a...

USUALLY its R22. DO NOT USE ANY REFRIGERANT TIL YOU KNOW IT NEEDS IT THOUGH. The plate is usually inside the top cover and you can read it after removing the cover. If its a 110or 220 AC unit Im almost sure its R22. And the weight listed will be the most you should try to put in it. BUT before you do that you have to put on a piercing valve. And the pressures are higher for R22 than R134A. It will ofcourse depend on the outdoor and indoor temps as to what pressures youll be running as well as fan speed. Freezing is 57-58psig on R22 so the pressure after ruinnign 10 to 15 minutes has to be greater than 57 or 58 PSIG. It is normal for some units to run for a while at a lower pressure when 1st started though so dont jump the gun.

Side by side....water dispenses from the front....water does not come out the back into the cuber. if I put water into the cuber it does freeze and cycles into cube bin... but no refill of cuber. I have...

If the water line inside the freezer is clogged with ice so water can't get to the ice maker then the water valve needs to be replaced.

This is one valve with two solenoids, one for the water in the door and one for the ice maker. Replace this valve.
