There will be more than 1 reason why you cant pront having that error if there is a specific error message like The product displays a '0x ... ' error message. The exact text of the error varies by product, but it is usually preceded by the word 'Error .' pls. see the link below for this type of error.

Hello,

Please try the below steps...
  1. While the printer is ON, remove the ink cartridges.
  2. Unplug the power cable from back of the printer while it is ON.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug in the Power cord into the printer and wait while the printer powers on and is silent.
  5. Install the cartridge one by one and check for the error message.
  6. Replace the ink cartridge.

You must be using HP60.
Have you refill your cartridge at all?

If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol).
And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well.

And try back.
Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable.


If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part.
Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer.

For your reference, HP4580 is pretty new model and has not cause major problem.
Good practical and durability is good.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".

Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.

Printer don't print documents. Status "PHD Life

Dear Diogo,

This error message occurs when the print head life is over. Every print head is designed with a specific life time (it is purely a mechanical device). Once the life time is over you will get this error message.

I recommend you to calibrate the print head, if you have that option in the software or front panel display(if any). Also, you can try using a new set of cartridges (if you printer is ink jet)

hi i dont have the tricolor cartridge in my hp 5610 and i want to work only with black cartridge and my printer says there is no cartridge on the left , is it posible to solve this problem and work with one cartridge only ? i can print but copy and fax doesnt work . thanx

Remove print catrige and clean it with cotton cloth then refix it.

Cartridge error!

try a new cartridge. Have a look at the white ribbon at the back of the cartridge carriage unit to check there are no pin holes or other damage to it
