Cannot connect to the Blackberry Messenger.

I just received this new Pearl because my old phone did not hold the Sim card or the 1 gb memory card.  The little metal holders became bent and would not keep them in place.  The new phone has it's own problems.  I am trying to add new contacts on the Blackberry Messenger but all I am getting is pending on my screen.  The person on the other end (the one I am adding) is getting nothing.  I also have been receiving email This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

Have a blackberry pearl and want to transfer the pictures on that sim card(1 GB)to the new blackberry torch phone

you can insert the memory card in blackberry torch, then go to file explorer in application and copy all the stuff in memory card to internal drive and paste it, or i suggest you leave the card in phone itself.
memory card is always a safer storage device than internal.

How do I change the SIM card in my BB Pearl 8130

Take SIM card out of old phone and put it into the new phone, however first of all you need to backup your old device.

Download the Desktop Manager and connect via USB cable and backup old handset, insert usb into new phone and restore to new phone thus moving all data from old to new.
