I got the Canon Power Shot G9 camera for almost 3years . It has been running well. But last month, somehow I could not operate it. It is not battery issue. At first I thought the battery was so old, so I bought a new battery. But when I put the new one into my camera, it still did not work. I led no accidents on it, I mean I did not drop it, or put an impact on it or something like that .

The camera has the fault, the cost to repair is not worth doing it. Replace the camera.

Yes it does sound like a battery problem. Keep in mind that the rechargeable battery is only meant to last a couple years maximum, regardless of use. You may consider a low-cost generic alternative just to troubleshoot. Here's one from Amazon with reasonably good ratings.

Your camera most likely has a short from some screws that get loose inside of these cameras. There's a really good place that only services Canon Powershots. They are not expensive at all and they do wonderful work. It's $89 with them for parts, labor servicing for the camera included. One of the neat things with them is that not only do they do wonderful work, they include the no power correction on any G9 they service, that way the problem doesn't keep happening. sent my camera in to get fixed tro Cameraandparts.its been almost 3 months and i haventt heard anything from them. Cant acess the order # they gave me,and my calls go unanswered.Sent it to Sunland Consumer Electronics and havent heard from them and they dont answer my emails.

Sounds like you have the short in the camera that a lot of people get on this model. They're very familiar with this no power problem on the G9. An excellent place if you need service for a Powershot.

If you go to display and click down to "review" you should be able to set the review time to what you would like. The default may be 102 seonds. This should work and check the manual

Your camera is still under warranty. Call 1-800-OK-CANON to correct this problem.

This is usually from a loose screw inside the camera, a screw inside the camera can come loose and cause a short which is very common on the G9. They're great if you need a hand with one of these and they automatically do the no power correction on the G7's and the G9's they service which is nice.
