Click on the hard drive once and press the "apple/cloverleaf" and the "I" at the same time. It will give you the size of your drive and ow much of it you've used. If you're really good a downloading music, or have a large ipod that full, it's probably the same case if the drive in your computer.

Unfortunately, since Mac laptops run in the background UNIX or Linux, there is no generic password. Even the hacking software on the internet would have a hard time cracking the password.
Just contact the store where it was purchased. If they can't help you, then contact Apple and see if there is a way to bypass the password.
First thing to do is to put in a CD cleaning disk. You can buy this at most electronics stores. Run this disk 4 or 5 times. I've never found that one pass was good enough. Then try one of the disks that your computer previously would not read. If that doesn't work, chances are that your drive is going bad. I don't know how long you've had the MacBook, but you should call Apple immediately to see if you can get a replacement drive for free.
HAHA i had the same problem so here is what i did...i stuck a head phone plug in the jack and smacked it a couple times and bam it works....i would suggest doing this if your lazy otherwise go to the apple store because obviously somthings not right in your laptop.
