Signal strength went from Good to Low

Either move the computer closer to the router or the router closer to the computer. You could also try connecting the usb adapter to a usb hub to remove any interference from the computer.

I HAVE A BELKIN N 300 CONNECTED TO MY COMCAST MODEM EVERY 20 MINUTES I LOSE MY SIGNAL, I HAVE TO REFRESH

There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. I have a Belkin wireless router connected to a Virgin modem. Always has worked fine with a Compaq laptop and 2 Dell Inspiron netbooks with excellent signal. Now have tried to connect with an Acer Revo rl...

Hello,
The router is designed in such a that it is compatible with all the computers. The best way to get rid of this issue is log into the router interface and change the wireless channel to suit your requirement.
1) To begin with.. Open internet explorer on a computer connected to the router and delete everything from the address bar and type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter. Now you will be in the Belkin Router setup. It will ask for a login password when you click on anything.. Leave the password field blank and click on submit. 2) Towards the left side under wireless click on "Channel and SSID". Now you see wireless channel change it to different channel and click on "OK / Save". Now check the signal strength in your Acer computer. If its still the same try different channel and check.
Hope this helped.

My icon says I only have 80% signal strength, is

80% is a good signal strength....but if you want to increase the signal strength, then you need to move the wireless router to a very ventilated area, also the router should be placed atleast 5 feet away from other electronic devices like, modem, ups, microwave ovens, refrigerators etc.... also there should be a line of sight between the router and the wi-fi adapter... but in order to connect to a wireless network 25% of signal strength is enough....

Inttalled belkin wireless adaptor, says strength is good, but not valid ip

the work of a belkin adapter is to receive the wireless signal in and around the adapter when pluged into computer
if ur able to see the wireless network then ur adapter is working fine
check the ip as
start>control panel>network connection>rite click on wireless network>click properties>choose internet protocol tcp/ip (highlight it and click on properties) then "obtain ip address has to be checked"

then cllick OK and try going online --- u must access the internet

Have you tried connecting the laptop in a different wireless network? Try changing the channel in your router and you may also upgrade the firmware of your router.
