the fuel pump will run for 2 secondes with key on to prime system. then when you crank engine it should run all the time. you check fuse and if current go to fuel pump at tank connector. if there is current then the fuel pump must be defect.
Sounds like your fuel pump is shot on the fuel rail is a pressure valve looks like a large aluminum valve stem it will have a black cap (caution under pressure) press with small screw driver and look away if your pump is bad it wont spray dont confuse with ac fill port really similar
