I want to add 4GB of DDR3 memory, what further info to I need to know about the memory?

You will need to follow these steps:
1. Determine which type of memory your laptop uses (DDR,DDR2,DDR3)
2. Determine how much memory you would like to add
3. Purchase the memory
4. Install. The memory is typically installed in the underside of your laptop. You will have to take the bottom off, take out the old memory, and install the new one

probably no, 32 bit systems have an under 4Gb limit. looks like 2 memory slots 1,2,4 and 8Gb supported.

on the back unscrew the screws there are two places memory could be held take both of one wil be hard drive and other memory
if you have 2 slots put 2x2gbs
if you have 1 slot put 4gb memory in

Just refer to your laptop manual. If your manual got lost go to the  acer website and find your product and download the manual.http://www.acer.com.ph/ac/en/PH/content/home .

when upgrading your memory you have to consider the following:

the processor: if your processor has 4gb compatibility mem you can upgrade upto 6 to 8gb.

                      take note that you must not exceed to 8gb or else your processor might be damage.

                      get the processor speed: example core 2 i3 processor, 1.0GHZ-the frequency.

the Memory or RAM(random access memory): get ther specification: example is DDR1 or DDR3

                                                                     PC133 or PC 400. Thats all.

Note: your current memory must have the same memory module(example PC400,PC 133)  or else it wont work.if your going to upgrade your current 4gb PC400 you have to add 4gb memory in PC400 module also.

Depends of your buget, Extra 4 GB DDR2 800 = $35 (total 8GB) I Have 4GB installed now seems fine, but all of this is necessary?
