No picture, no sound on my Samsung 56" Projection TV

Suspect number one is not fan, lamp or Color wheel--optical light engine with dmd is.

Tv projection lamp have a life span like any other bulbs light sources.Tipically life spans of these tvs projection lamps are around 20,000 hrs of useages.That average out like about 1 1/2 or 2 years and around 4 or 5 hours of the tv is on and watching it everyday.Now the front tv bazel frame of the tv.The word "LAMP" LED light indication is on or flashing are indication of the tv projection lamp life span are over and the tv must have it projection lamp to be replacement to another tv projection lamp.Projection Lamp fillerments tipically dies out when it reaches it life span.Mark or burns on the projection Lamp,will not show or be there,if the tv projection lamp run it natural life span cycles.

It time to replaced the tv projection lamp again,the tv projection lamp life span have ended.The tv projection lamp life span only last 2000 hrs.Average out like 1 1/2 or 2 years max for tv on watches 4 or 5 hrs of tv every days.

U turn tv on hear any squiling,grinding or motor noises?Picture show up before it shut down picture have flashes of black&white within the picture?Yes,to all of these,this tv have a colors wheel and it dead,require the colors wheel replacing.No,none of these problems.The tv projection lamp,if in this tv like a 1 1/2 or 2 years,tv ben on an watches like 4 or 5 hours a day?The "LAMP" LED light indication lite up or flahes,the projection lamp life is over.Require a new projection lamp.

Sounds that tv got color wheel problem that will be replaced.
If you are handy with electronics stuff repair then replace color wheel in light engine of tv to solve its issue.

3 lights on front flashing indicates lamp quit. Could be lamp or ballast.

Three blinking LEDs mean lamp may be defective replace the lamp.

Sounds like the color wheel may have also gone bad. I recently saw a 56" Samsung where the bulb and color wheel went at the same time. The color wheel could produce a crying noise while trying to spin up.

Carloes, You need to open the lamp housing door and take the lamp tray assembly out to visually inspect the lamp itself... If the lamp is blown it will be obvious and replacing it should restore normal operation. A shop can do this on a single home visit. The second part of your question has to do with the unit cycling (turning on/off a couple of times) This is because the lamp detection circuit is finding no load on the lamp circuit. Light is not lighting - - - Tv shuts down. This is merely a protection from causing other damage or more damage. The circuit doesn't know why there is no load volatge just that there is none.
