I have philips se4502b/17 cordless phone but it remains on searching mode i tried my best to register it but not succeeded

Sorry this comes late, but we just went through this problem with our unit, but I hope this helps someone else out there.

We had the same problem. To fix this, you need to do a few things and hopefully it will work for you.

First, do you have the PIN that came standard on the phone? The standard PIN for these phones is 1234. Go to the advanced settings, and then REGISTER, and put the PIN in and allow it to go through the "registering..." mode. It even may beep and say "unregistered" but don't give up hope, If this happens, unplug the unit from your outlet and wait a few minutes, plug back in, and place the handset on the base. It should then work.

The handsets are displaying 'UNREGISTERED' and not working!

UNREGISTERED means the phone has not yet been set up to work with any particular base. I don't have any Phillips phones, so I can't tell you the procedure, but it should be outlined in the owners manual. Look for registering your handsets.

VOIP321 is unregistered

I had a similar problem. I unregistered the main handset & then when I attempted to re-register it, I had the same issue (handset attempts the registration process & eventually fails). I tried everything including pressing the "Reset" button on the back of the basestation & downloading firmware version 1.0.4.80 (started with 1.0.4.50). Turns out I had to press & hold the "Page" button on the basestation while the handset is attempting the registration process.

This info is in the manual. I know, I should have read the manual first. But at least I'm not alone; the guy at Philips told me to return the product because it must be defective.

It appears that the registration process is a security process/exchange between the basestation & handset. I'm not certain how standard this process is (i.e., whether differing manufactures utilize the same security protocols). If not, it is likely that other manufacturers' handsets cannot talk to the basestation. I mention this because you said you registered the main handset multiple times, so it sounds like you are familiar with the registration process.

Nevertheless, this might help others who decide to spend their weekend pressing the "reg" button a bzillion times, watching it fail as many times, & looking for answers on
