On your motor name plate there is a diagram with motor terminal numbers that shows you the feeder wires connections for 115 & 230VAC. You don't need to change any internal motor wiring connections because those are only CW or CCW motor rotation. As you told it tripped your circuit breaker, b4 u will attemp to make any connection you need to test your motor's winding insulation insulation first by using megger tester or ordinary analog tester clipping one lead to the casing and one lead to the motor terminals one by one.

SOURCE: ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS FOR AO SMITH ST1152
Went to a pool store. They wanted a week and $85 to "check it out" Then said they were
"almost" sure the two side by side posts were the correct ones. Since "almost sure" sounded better
than "not at all sure", I decided to go for it and hook it up that way. It would work or smoke the motor!
It worked!! Apparently the post next to the voltage selector is just a dummy or something.
I don't know why there was a screw in it but not in one of the two correct posts.
SOURCE: How difficult is it to replace bearings in AO
to be honest by the time the brearings start to go the rest of the motor is on its last legs,,, you must ask yourself am i throwing good money at whats nearly a dead horse? for a start how old is it? how much use have you had from it? and if you had got a penny for every time its gone round how ritch would be? save your money buy a new one,,
Testimonial: "As much as I hate to just buy new rather than fix the pump, this is very sage advice. Time is money."
SOURCE: I have an AO Smith SQ1102 pool motor that stopped
no. it sounds like its too late for your motor , no need for a pool pump motor repair kit ,there is one on ebay . but it sounds like your motor is toast if it blowing the breaker... hey i could be wrong . look for a shop that has free pool pump motor testing .use your zip code in your search..
as far as using the bearings off them threw bolt motors. do what ya got to do, but you might find that the front bearing is a bigger bearing .. i charge 85.00 to rebuild a 2.. but you must catch them befor its too late 2hp new = big $$$
best of luck .. and if'n i was any help ? push on them thumbs up to vote ... thanks jay..oh PRIME THAT PUMP !
SOURCE: I want to reverse rotation
I believe all you have to do is swap your two hot wires, that works for 3-phase but not sure on single phase

Cont for Juanito sulotion: Following the tester's leads position the needle of the tester will move full towards right which means there is short circuit or your motor got burn.
