Hi, Internal microphone on my acer aspire 8920g which originally has vista is not working now on windows 7. To be honest I didn't pay attention while I had vista and can't now remember if it worked at that time. Recently I needed skype and found out that it is not working. Sound works good, microphone jack with headset works fine, microphone on my usb camera works fine just internal microphone is not. My built in camera works but on microsoft driver since I can't install original acer's driver - it said not compatible. Original realtek audio drivers also are replaced with microsoft ones. Newer acer realtek drivers as well as newest from relatek web site can be installed but still microphone in not working, and I have not possibility to choose internal microphone since it doesn't exist in menu. On the other hand microsoft driver give me option to select internal atapi jack - whatever it is but also it doesn't work. Any idea? Thanks

I suggest you go into control panel and device manager and see if your internal mic is listed there. If it is right click on it and see if it is selected as your default mic. I believe it may be un-selected. If that doesn't work I would just use the external mic with Skype as the internal mics with most laptops aren't that good anyway.

select and download and run teh driver for windows vista ..they are very compatible for windows 7 ..and usually work without problems ..make sure you select it on 64 if you run such a operation system ..
If the driver refuses to install ..just click right on the set-up icon ..and select properties ..and compatibility ..and tick the case and select to run it in compatibility with windows vista ..It will try to install ..it may refuse but will offer to run it in compatibility settings ..and you will have no further issues..Pay attention on future automatic updates and do not install any driver for it unless you are sure its the correct one ..

Acer Aspire 5315 micro dont work after installing Windows 7 :(

There might be a hardware compatibility problem with Windows 7 and the microphone driver. The following two web sites might offer information that can better help to find a possible solution.

1). The Microsoft Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility List. It can only be viewed with Internet Explorer.

Express card and TV tuner not working

Reinstall the drivers, just put the driver CD given along with the card, and autorun. OS will automatically list the available drivers and select driver for windows xp or vista and give OK. That's all.and make sure that your vista or 7 rc is set to signal area .like australia india

How to turn-on/function mic in my acer aspire one pc notebook?

To test the microphone, click "start" button, then "Control Panel", then "Sounds and Audio Devices". On the popup window that opens, click on the "Voice" tab, then click on the button that says "Test Hardware". After several seconds this will bring up a test program that will show a noise level meter when you're speaking into the microphone. (The default device listed under voice recording should be "Realtek HD Audio Input".)
