Drier Motor The Drier is not blowing. the top of the washer heats up . the clothes get hot but no drying

Check venting that it’s not blocked, kinked, or obstructed. If venting is good, then check heating element

Sounds like to me, but I'm no expert, the heating element is "over-heating and not getting the m"air" it needs to cool down enough to keep from burning. Literally I mean burn because the way a drier works is there is a fan at the heating element to blow the heat from the element to dry the clothes and if the fan is filled with lint it can't blow much air across the element and causing it to have the burning smell. I would check the fan blades and those are usually connected directly to the drier drive motor. I wouldn't use the drier until issue is resolved for the reason being is you can burn out the element and have to replace it too. Very hot says heater is okay perhaps the fan is not operating due to cut out.... this fan blows air which is then heated and dries the clothes,if its a condenser drier then check also the water valve is opening and pump operating...

check the filter is clear and the access vent from heater fan to tumbler is not blocked - have seen a sock blocking air flow -
drier is only a fan blowing air over a heated element & through a duct or pipe into the tumbler - on exit the air passes a filter and if this is blocked - through passage is obstructed and hot air will escape backwards

Is the fan working? this blows air across the element which in turn cools the steam into water then pumps it out via pump,Hope this is of some help

Sounds like the motor is over heating. You will have to replace the motor to resolve this problem.

could be thermal overload in motor its a motor protector in the motor when the motor gets hot it cuts power to the motor when motor cools it closes and resets age of drier counts some times you can take drier apart and blow dust out of motor and will fix now if the door is not closing tight vibration can cause door switch to break contact that will do it too most of time motor or relay must be replaced

soap drawer is just a slide fit - give it a good yank. for the dryer, take the top off and there should be a mainifold across the top with stats mounted on it. one or two may be re-settable stats ie have a little button in the middle which press to reset. if this works, cause of stat popping out is usually a lint blockage in the dryer manifold

Mj, 90% of the time long dry times are caused by a pinched or clogged vent. Other things that could be causing this are: cycling thermostat trips too soon, if your dryer is a gas model, weak gas valve coils, drive motor centrifugal switch not allowing voltage to the gas valve or heating element. Check the harness to the motor to make sure it is on tight. Catriver...post back.
