I have been using my Sony Cyber-shot for several months for Ebay pictures. When I turn it on it says Error formatting Memory Stick. What to do? I am not worried about recoveriung any pictures. Just need to get taking more again. Thanks in advance for your help.

try formatting the stick through the camera itself. else download the software of camera and connect it to pc and see if it has any formatting options...

The Error message C:13:XX indicates that the Camera cannot read or write data on the Memory Stick or an unformatted Memory Stick is inserted in the Camera or the inserted Memory Stick cannot be used with your Camera or the data is damaged.

1. Try reinserting the Memory Stick several times.

2. Format the Memory Stick in the Camera.

*Formatting a Memory Stick will delete all the data saved in the Memory Stick.

Insert the Memory Stick in the Camera, Turn ON the Camera. Press MENU -> Memory Stick Tool -> Format -> OK.

3. Try with different Memory Stick.

Please take out memory stick from camera and power up camera and check still gives format error?
If no further error then put memory stick back in camera and press Menu >> Format >> OK to format memory stick. That will delete all data on memory stick and refresh it for new photos.

Format error comes because memory stick has an error. Please format memory stick by going in to Menu>> format>>OK

If error still comes then memory stick is bad and need to be replaced with new one.

Format memory stick by going into menu and memory setup, if memory is formatted without error that means memory seems good. If problem is still there, use another memory stick.

i have orignal memory stick but i am also getting same error.. have forated stick on camera but no effect on error. so plz can u tell me how can i format my memory stick ... SONY GURU

Format memory stick, if no data on it.
If there is data on memory stick, copy it on PC using any good card reader.

try a different memory stick, if no problem with the new stick, use a pc to run a quick format on the old memory card... should solve the problem.
