My Maytag MAV6000 washer leaks intermittently. In the past 3 weeks it has been used many times but has leaked 3 times. I removed the front panel to look at the pump and hoses and put the washer through a complete cycle and saw no leaks anywhere. Another question, even though the washer was in the washing mode, water was rushing through the pump, though it was not draining into the sink. Maybe it was just circulating through the pump and not going out the drain hose. We are a wits end. I don't want to replace this 10 year old washer if I can do a non-costly repair.

SOURCE: Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

SOURCE: washer leaking water on floor

Need to check drain pump and its hose connections. If its not from the drum seal then that's usually where the leaks occur.

It is your water pump. If you don't know what you are doing it could be tough.

Do I access the tub area from the front panel or the top?

The 5500 Neptune washer and all predecessors are accessed from the front. by removing the 2 hinge screws, and the opposite 2 screws. The front goal post panel can then be removed, then the door can be lifted off. Maytag made a 1 piece tub and a removable front tub cover. Once the tub cover is removed by pulling all the tension clips you can remove the stainless spin basket one of 2 ways, either remove all 3 of the basket tumblers, then the 3 basket bolts, then the basket can be removed leaving the spinner support behind, or you can remove the rear panel, then the main pulley, then tap out shaft with a 2X4, this will remove the basket and spinner support together. You have not described the nature of your leak. Pleazer Appliance...

Washer leaks after it starts to agitate. It seems to be coming from the front of the washer. Thanks for any help.

To find where the leak is coming from, remove the 2 bottom bolts on the lower kick panel and remove panel. Next, remove the 2 bolts holding the upper front panel and remove it also. Now, with the front panels removed, run the washer and look for where it is leaking from. Repost your observations.

LAT 7793 ABL model number. Washer leaking during fill...? a seal or gasket but not sure how to remove the spin bars to access it

On Your washer to locate a leak, remove the front panel first. Should be two clips at the bottom of front panel, use a putty knife to pry them down while pulling lower of front panel forward (older models used two screws right through front panel on left and right sides). After getting both lower clips loose, pull bottom of front panel forward to remove from top.
Set front panel aside and then use a 3/8" socket or nut-driver to remove two screws (one each) in the front right and left corners that secure the top to the side panels of the washer (inside in front corners going upwards). After screws are removed slide machine away from the wall about 8-10" and lift front of top up. Will pivot up like the hood on a car. This will allow you to examine machine for leaks.
Let me know when you come up with leak location if you need any more help!!

Maytag Atlantis leaking water, not from hoses - solution?

Hi this could be coming from a number of places. First get putty knife or possible a butter knife and pop the top. There are 2 clips holding it on they are at the top front about 2" in from the corners... Push in knife and pull up on top at the same time...Fold the top back out of the way and observe inside to see where the water is leaking. If it is coming from underneath you may need to remove the front to screw top left and right then fold out and up to remove. Observe underneath to see where the leak is.
If I can help with anything else please let me know.

Maytag atlantis washer got water leaking from

I have an Atlantis myself. There can be several problems. Did you check that the fill hoses in the back are not leaking? Are they tight? There are hoses inside the washer and a pump near the front. I replaced my pump last year and I,m getting ready to replace the thrust bearing assembly (spin issues). Does the washer leak with every load? make sure water is not splashing over the tub when filling. The front panel comes off if you can and leave off and watch to see where water is coming from.

Maytag Washer leaking from the bottom

It will be the normal trial and error. Remove the top lld and the back panel.statt the wash again and start looking for anything obvious. Start from the soap box, then carefully look down the sides and then if nothing seen, switch machine off and tilt machine untill you can see the underneath. Look for any areas where there is water .(when visible start looking a little higher untill you find the spot.) Most of the underneath areas are likely rust spots that have broken through.. On occation the pipes are perferrated and have a small leak. All observation.

disconnect the hose on the bottom and see if the seal is good.If it is good, then remove the back panel, start the washer and watch and see what seal is broke and you can visually see the exact spot the water is leaking from.

Washer leaks from bottom as soon as it starts filling with water

There are 2 green clips between the top of the unit and the front panel. (you can use a flash light to find them easier). Push on the with a putty knife or small flat head screw driver while lifting on the top. Once the top is open, you will find 2 5/16 screws that hold the front panel on at the top on the right and left hand sides. Once these are removed, you can tilt the front panel forward and see where the water is leaking from.
